Guild Charter

Changes to the Charter:

A change to the Charter once it is finalized can only be done with an Overseers vote lasting 1 week.

Voting Scale:
Warchief - 2 votes
Chieftain - 1 vote

Guild Hierarchy:

Overseers

Warchief: The Warchiefs are the main leaders of the guild. They oversee all aspects of the guild and are the ones who make the final decisions on matters.

Chieftain: These are the officers of the guild. They are there to handle day-to-day problems and many will be specialized in certain areas. The Chieftains will be involved in most decisions involving the guild as a whole.

Members

Veteran: These are the elite members of the guild who have proven their skill and loyalty to the guild through time and effort. The Veteran members will be involved in many issues that drive the guild.

Member: This group of people is made up of those who have proven their worth and fortitude as a maggot and has been deemed worthy of remaining in the guild. This is the body of the guild and most of the people will fall into this category.

Maggot: These are the scum and fodder of the guild. They will be thought of as trash until they prove themselves worthy of the guild’s respect. They will be required to help with anything the guild requires of them.

Probation: Read Conduct section for further information.

Special Titles:

Class General: Must show excessive knowledge of game mechanics, class roles, raid events, and required class functions. They must be very active raiders. They must also be able to speak their mind and have the respect of the rest of the people of their class.

Core Raider: Members who have dedicated themselves to furthering the guild in the PvE aspects. They must be able to attend the majority of scheduled raids to be considered for this rank. They will receive priority on loot and positions in the raid. For further information, check the PvE forums. Maggots cannot apply to be Core Raiders.

PvP Fiend: These members will mainly only participate in PvP activities. These members will be able to help for PvE events if we need it, but they may also respectfully decline with no penalty. PvP Fiends will not be subject to DKP decay.

Conduct:

All Seek and Destroy members are required to follow our conduct requirements.

1. Understanding that anything you say or do in any game, chat room, and forums can be used against you. You will be held accountable for anything said in any of these areas.

2. Anything said by a member that may demoralize the guild may result in the member being disciplined. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

a. Begging. This includes for loot and for PvP.

b. Whining: Whining in public channels, especially Ventrilo, will not be tolerated. Vocally complaining about loot on Ventrilo will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal from the raid.

c. Frequent acts of ignorance and among other things, stupidity

d. Disloyalty - Threatening to quit the guild or quitting the guild. Attempting to join other guilds playing a supported game. Re-admission will be decided at the discretion of the Warchiefs and a warning will be given if re-admitted. If this happens again, they will permanently be banned from Seek & Destroy.

e. Treason - Participating in any act that may counter the interests of the guild. This includes, but is not limited to: posting private board information, giving out account information to non-Seek & Destroy members, attacking guild members in an aggressive manner or giving any information that is deemed private by the Warchiefs to non-guildmates.

f. Racism - Racist remarks often cause drama and annoy some people, even when jokingly. Refrain from utilizing racist remarks or racism in any form of communication involving the guild. Basically, use your head and think before you spout off at the mouth. The level of discipline for a violation of this will result in warnings and possible removal from the guild.

g. Disruption - Any overall disruption of the guild will not be tolerated. This includes: abuse of other members, public flaming of the guild or it's members, constant whining, arguing on public forums, arguing on public forums/Ventrilo/public channels, or anything else viewed as disruptive.

Probation

Probation is for extreme circumstances or repeated problems. Breaking of the charter severely or frequently can also result in this. Probation will last no less than two weeks in which the player is active, and no more than a month.

Any members on probation will be required to help with anything and everything that the guild needs. They will not receive any bonus DKP such as on time, donation, or etcetera. Most importantly, they will not be allowed to spend DKP under any circumstance.

People on probation will not be allowed to speak on Raid chat or Ventrilo during organized events without explicit permission from the leader(s) of the event.

Any special titles given to the member will be revoked for the period of their probation.

There is a limit to two times in six months that one can be on probation. Any more frequently, and the person will be put on trial for removal from the guild.

Promotions/Demotions/Removals:

All promotions will be done with a 66% majority vote, and all removals/demotions will be done by a true majority vote (50.1%). All threads involving votes will remain active for a period of one week. Voting will be public; we are here to work together, and we should be willing to express our opinions and thoughts when in consideration of serious matters.

Promotions:

Chieftain to Warchief: Done as needed and requires a unanimous Warchief vote.

Veteran to Class General: Generally, two per class will be the standard. A vote amongst the Overseers, Class leader of that class remaining, and members of that class will occur (Overseer/Class Leader 2 votes, members of class 1 vote)

Member to Veteran: Has shown respectable qualities, is deemed worthy by their higher rank peers (Warchief 2/Chieftain 2/Veteran 1).

Maggot to Member: Active players who are deemed worthy at the discretion of the Recruitment Officer(s). Two vetoes by the Overseers will override the Recruitment Officer’s decision.

Demotions:

Class General to Veteran: If the Class General becomes inactive for a period of more than a month, a vote will occur to demote them (Overseer/Class Leader 2 votes, members of class 1 vote)

Veteran to Member: Will only occur under extreme circumstances or as a penalty for poor behavior.

Removal:

Any member or below is subject to removal on grounds of breaking the charter or any other reason via a majority Veteran vote.

All Veterans inactive for a period of two months or more will be subject to removal as the Overseers see fit.

All Members inactive for a month or more are subject to removal as the Overseers see fit.

Removal from the guild will result in a wipe of DKP. Those that are reinstated will have their DKP adjusted to a level as deemed appropriate by the Overseers.

DKP System:

Please see our DKP site here for more information on general raid conduct and our DKP system and it’s rules and regulations.

Recruitment

Recruitment to this guild is a privilege and should be taken seriously. We are not here to advance your amount of purple loots, or to act as a stepping-stone. People applying should know that we are more tight knit than most raiding guilds. We also demand a certain quality level from our Maggots. To apply to become a Maggot, you must be level

60. Being keyed for MC, Onyxia and BWL is a definite plus for application consideration.

Applications must be posted on our Application Forum, following the guidelines listed there. The Recruitment Officer(s) will then review your application and get back to you as soon as they can in regards to your application. Knowing people in the guild who can vouch for you us a major plus, so be sure to ask for an invite to any nonscheduled PvE/PvP events.

Removal from recruitment process can occur at any point during their application or Maggotry via two Vetoes from the sitting Overseers.

The recruitment process will last 31 days from the time of being tagged in game. After this period, the Overseers and any designated Recruitment Managers will vote on your acceptance into, or denial from, the guild.

Maggots are expected to maintain a 66% raid attendance for all scheduled (besides AQ) raids. This means that recruits must have attended eight Scheduled (besides AQ) raids.

Communication:

People will be expected to be in Ventrilo if there is an organized group or raid going on, except under extenuating circumstances. People with Ventrilo problems or prior permission are the only exception to this. There will be channels designated for people who want to listen to music and etcetera, and not be bothered when not in an organized group.

Raids:

The voice communication channel will remain clear of all unnecessary chatter during raids. This means that only chat pertaining to the activity at hand will be tolerated. Offenders will be subject to discipline. This goes for both PvE and PvP.
